We just got back from the "Trail of Lights" at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. It was very cool and we enjoyed the 3-D Glasses too. Aiden really liked the snowman ones, while I liked the snowflake pair. A passing visitor let us check out their gingerbread/stocking (or socks as Aiden called them) glasses.
Food for thought if you are thinking about going! Buy your tickets ahead of time at King Soopers, rather than stopping and getting money at the ATM at King Soopers and then waiting in a 40 minute line for tickets. You can bypass the ticket line and still get the 3-D glasses on a cart right after the school house, but before the food stand (where the picnic table gazebo is at).
Be prepared for MUD -- so wear snow boots or Dustin says galoshes. Wear your long underwear and put your children's on too. Poor Cora had frozen legs when we got home and we have long underwear for her -- DUH! Definitely bring hats, gloves, mittens and blankets for the little ones. Dustin forgot his gloves, but the rest of us had ours.
Cora only lasted in the stroller for the wait in line and then hauled it through the lights. I think she was cold so she figured the faster we went, the faster we would leave. Aiden ended up in the stroller covered with the blanket and still was ready to go home at the end -- didn't even mention the horse ride as we left, even though when we got there he insisted we should go on it when we were done.
We had a good time and we were lucky it was warm -- 41 degrees. So we are now ready to go to zoo lights next weekend -- we will remember the long underwear, hats, drinks, blankets... oh! and the camera.
Which explains only my 2nd blog without pictures!
